MONKEY STEALS THE PEACH
MONKEY STEALS THE PEACH
To dance is to be canopied
to layer time around thin waist
like a song—tell God your love
dive into the white zodiacal light
weave silk to adorn elixirs
warp
then reshape with plastic reach
and kiss the waves of moon
fashion Heaven above a god-head
to shroud a weeping monkey: caught stealing
a peach, to give to a dancing-lover soon dying.
